The ABLES Recreation Association, Inc. of Rutherford County, TN, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing recreational opportunities for young people with special needs. Through the efforts of ABLES, Inc. and a counscience cadre of volunteers, children participate in activities previously inaccessible.
Year-round events include summer day camp, field trips, bowling leagues, adaptive softball, and swimming. Additional activities are added as interest deleopes. These fun-filled activities encourage physical development, social growth, and self-confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
The activities organized by ABLES, Inc. are possible with the help of teenage volunteers, parents, and caring indivisuals around the community. Funding is provided by local and corporate business sponsers, indivisual contributions, and proceeds from an annual talent show and Easter carnival.
You can help a young person with special needs by becoming and ABLES Volunteer or sponsering an ABLES activity.
